PROYECTO AUTORRETRATOS/ SELF PORTRAIT PROJECT 7 Session

TERCER DIA / THIRD DAY

El tercer día del proyecto nos encuentra terminando las imagenes digitales que seran impresas esta noche por Hal. Mañana nos trasladamos de la Galería MTS al taller de grabado de la Universidad de Alaska, del cual Garry Kautlitz es profesor, dónde vamos a imprimir encima de ellas con diversas técnicas, según los proyectos de cada artista. Mientras tanto voy presentando a alguno de ellos:

The third day found ourselves finishing the digital images. Hal is going to print some of them tonight. Tomorrow morning we will move from the MTS Gallery to the University of Alaska Print Studio where Garry Kautlitz teaches. We are going to print on top of them with various techniques, according to each artist goals. Meanwhile I introduce some of the artist that are working in this session:

Cloud Medicine Crow (algo así como "Cuervo de la nube medicinal") es la traducción al inglés del nombre de este artista perteneciente a la tribu Hidatsa. Su autorretrato es una obra de fuerte contenido testimonial acerca del lugar en que la sociedad pone a los pueblos originarios. Esta tarde estuvimos trabajando en la incorporación a su propia imagen la de sus dos bisabuelos, de los que Cloud tiene la suerte de tener fotografías en sus vestimentas originales.

Cloud Medicine Crow is the English translation of this artist's name who belongs to the Hidatsa tribe. His self-portrait is a work of strong testimonial content about the place where society puts Native Americans. This afternoon we were working on incorporating to his own image those of his two great grandfathers, whose Cloud is fortunate to have photos in their original costumes.

Petra Lisiecki, fotógrafa profesional. Nacida en Alemania, pasó su juventud en Sudáfrica y ha vivido los últimos años entre Londres y Alaska. Es una persona y fotógrafa exquisita que trabaja sobre la música y la opera, ambos temas reflejados en su autorretrato.
Petra Lisiecki is an international professional photographer. She was born in Germany, spent her youth in South Africa and has lived the last years between London and Alaska. She is an extraordinary person and photographer who likes music and explores opera images as her main subject, themes that has been reflected both in her self-portrait.
