RESIDENTES DE AGOSTO/AUGUST RESIDENTS

Ya están en ´ace los nuevos residentes de Julio/Agosto:  Ayanah Moor y Alexandra Carter. En primer plano Andrew Donohoe (Tasmania) es un "residente-.reincidente" ya que en Agosto realizará su segunda residencia con nosotros.

Today arrived the July/August residents: Ayanah Moor and Alexandra Carter. In the foreground is Andrew Donohoe (Tasmania) a "recidivist-resident", since in August will be his 2nd residency with us.

ARTISTAS EN RESIDENCIA

Esta semana comenzaron su residencia: Brian Sago y Amanda Schroer. Ambos artistas viajaron desde diferentes ciudades de Estados Unidos y están trabajando en sus proyectos en los talleres de ´ace con la asistencia de nuestra Masterprinter Adriana Moracci.

This week Brian Sago & Amanda Schroer started their residency. Both artists travelled from different cities of USA and are working on ´ace workshops´ on their projects assisted by Masterprinter Adriana Moracci.

INAUGURACIONES EN ´ACE

Tenemos el agrado de invtarlos a nuestro próximo ´ace nite donde inauguraremos las exposiciones de lo producido por los artistas en residencia del mes de junio. En el Hall Central se proyectarán las obras seleccionadas a través de FusionARTE-Convocatoria Abierta "Pin-Hole" con artistas de Buenos Aires, Córdoba y Perú. Y en los otros espacios se presentarán:

ARTISTAS EN RESIDENCIA

Esta semana comenzaron su residencia: Miguel Angel Rivera (Mexico/EEUU), Sophie Hoyle (Inglaterra) y Francesca Du Brock (EEUU). Todos se encuentran trabajando en sus proyectos que serán exhibidos el miércoles 22 de junio, junto a los artistas seleccionados en la convocatoria abierta PINHOLE.

This week three artists began their residency: Miguel Angel Rivera (Mexico/USA), Sophie Hoyle (England) and Francesca Du Brock (USA). They are all working and very focused on their projects that will be shown on Wednesday 22 June, together with the artists selected within the PINHOLE open call.

 

SEGUNDO ´ACE NITE DEL AÑO

Agradecemos a todos los que compartieron con nosotros el segundo ´ace nite del año donde se inauguraron tres exposiciones con trabajos realizados por los artistas en residencia: en la Sala principal Leslie Mutchler presentó su instalación "Geometría del Trabajo", Wanda Ewing "El Salto" en el hall central y Cristina Molina expuso "Sabor-Saber-Saver" con fotografías estereoscópicas en el espacio Diálogo . El colectivo argentino S.A. Oficina de Estampas realizó una performance en el taller y en el espacio Transversal Effýmia presentó la instalación "Desvistiéndome antes del exilio".

We want to thank all those who joined us for the second ´ace nite of the year where three exhibitions took place with the works produced by the artists in residence: Leslie Mutchler presented the installation "Geometry of Labour", Wanda Ewing  installed "The Jump Off" in the Central Hall & Cristina Molina showed "Sabor-Saber-Saver" with stereoscopic photography pieces. In addition, S.A. Oficina de Estampas made a performance and Effýmia intervened the Transverse Space.

DIA DE MONTAJE

Leslie, Wanda y Cristina están terminando sus obras con la asistencia de Adriana y Valeria. Las chicas de S.A. preparan su oficina para la performance que realizarán el miércoles y Effy instala su obra en el espacio transversal. Faltan solo dos días para la inauguración!

Leslie, Wanda & Cristina are finishing their work with the assistance of Adriana and Valeria. The artists from S.A. are preparing their office for the performance that will take place on Wednesday and Effy is installing her work in the transverse space. Only two days left for the opening!

WANDA, LESLIE & CRISTINA TRABAJAN EN ´ACE

Wanda Ewing es la tercer artista en residencia de mayo y está desarrollando en ´ACE un proyecto que investiga la lucha por el poder en la cultura Hip-Hop. Esta artista afro-americana cuestiona si es la industria del Hip-Hop misógina hacia las mujeres o si las mujeres involucradas en ella se ven, por el contrario, puestas en una situación de superioridad y poder. Leslie y Cristina continúan trabajando en sus proyectos y el progreso en sus obras es notable!

Wanda Ewing is the third artist in residence of May and her project attempts to explore the power struggle in Hip-Hop culture. This project adds to the conversation of is Hip-Hop industry misogynistic towards women or are the women involved in the industry actually empowered. Leslie & Cristina are working hard in their projects and the progress is remarkable!

ARTISTAS EN RESIDENCIA

Hoy comenzaron su residencia Cristina Molina y Leslie Mutchler. Ambas artistas viajaron desde diferentes ciudades de Estados Unidos para realizar una residencia de tres semanas en ´ACE. Cristina ya empezó a investigar con su visor y fotografías estereoscópicas y compartió con Patricia el uso de esta antigua herramienta. El proyecto que Leslie está desarrollando tiene que ver con la vida de los cartoneros y cómo éstos recolectan los materiales reciclables.

Today Cristina Molina & Leslie Mutchler began their residency . Both artists traveled from different cities of USA to make a residency of three weeks at ´ACE. Cristina just began to explore with her stereoscopic display and photographs and shared with Patricia the use of this ancient tool. The project that Leslie is developing is related with the life of the cartoneros and how they collect cardboard recyclables.

El jueves 5 de mayo Alicia Candiani, directora de ´ACE, realizó clínica de obra a artistas de Buenos Aires y de Rosario.

On Tuesday May 5, Alicia Candiani, ´ACE director, made portfolio review to artists from Buenos Aires and Rosario.
