LIBROS "AL FRESCO"  / "Al FRESCO" ARTIST BOOKS

Como primera actividad del año y en relación a las exposiciones de libros de artista MIMB I&II y “Alquimia y otras incompletudes” ofrecemos en eneroLibros "al fresco" , un proyecto único sobre libros de artista en pequeño formato.
Para aquellos artistas que deseen empezar el Año del Dragón con nuevos y frescos proyectos los invitamos a participar de estas jornadas únicas para reflexionar y realizar libros de artista en miniatura.
Los participantes tendrán una oportunidad ideal de trabajar en este programa y de estudiar mas de 140 libros (y sus consecuentes formas de presentación y plegado) que estarán exhibidos durante el verano en la Sala Poliglota de ´ace como parte de las exposiciónes internacionales  de libros de artista en miniatura MIMB I & II. A continuación los participantes podrán producir un libro de artista en pequeño formato utilizando plegados en papeles chinos, japoneses y de algodón, haciéndolo en fotolitografia sin agua.
Los artistas participantes de este proyecto formarán parte de una primera selección con posibilidad de ser incluidos en la exposición internacional MIMB III, cuya
curadoría internacional está a cargo de Alicia Candiani. Los artistas seleccionados deberán luego desarrollar el proyecto y hacer una edición mínima de 6 para fines del año 2012.  más

Related with the exhibitions of artists' books MIMB I & II and "Alchemy and other incompleteness", and as the first activity of the year, ‘ace offers in January this exciting and unique project on artist's books in small format.
This workshop is special for those artists who want to start the Year of the Dragon with fresh new projects. We invited all of them to attend these seminar and  to reflect and make miniature artist's books.
Participants will have an ideal opportunity to work on this program and to study more than 140 books (and resulting formats and folding) that has been  exhibited during the summer in the Poliglota Gallery at ' ace as part of international exhibitions of books MIMB  I & II. Then, participants will produce an artist book in small format using Chinese, Japanese and cotton papers and employing a variety of printmaking techniques. More

La primera exposición de la muestra itinerante "Autorretratos" en Trois Riviéres, Canadá

First Exhibition of the traveling exhibition "Self Portrait" in Trois Riviéres, Canada

El 23 de Octubre se inauguró la primera de una serie de exposiciones itinerantes que llevará al Proyecto Autorretratos a los lugares en los que se produjo durante los últimos 5 años.  La misma es alojada en la Maison de la Culture/Centro de Exposiciones Raymond-Lasnier de la ciudad de Trois Rivieres en Quebec, Canada.

El Proyecto Autorretratos es una idea original de Alicia Candiani y un emprendimiento internacional llevado a cabo por ‘ace.  Este proyecto internacional de trabajo en colaboración ha funcionado como un work-in-progress desde 2006, incluyendo alrededor de 100 artistas, 6 países, 11 nacionalidades, 5 idiomas y 8 prestigiosas instituciones artísticas de diversas partes del mundo.

On October 23 will open the first venue of a travelling exhibition that will take the Self-portraits Project to the places that it was developed during the last five  years.  It will be displayed at the Maison de la Culture / Exhibition Centre Raymond-Lasnier of the city of Trois Rivieres in Quebec, Canada.


The Self-Portraits Project is a Alicia Candiani’s original idea and ´ace’s international endeavor. This collaborative international venture has been a work in progress from 2006, involving almost 100 artists, 6 countries, artist from 11 different nationalities who speak 5 languages and 8 major art institutions around the world.

VIII Edición - KANSAS CITY - EEEUU

La 8 ª Edición (La sesión de Kansas City) del Proyecto Autorretratos se inició el 28 de septiembre  del 2011 organizada por el reconocido Instituto de Arte de Kansas City en los Estados Unidos (KCAI). Dirigida por Alicia Candiani y co-dirigida por Miguel Rivera (Director del departamento de Grafica del KACI y artista en residencia de ´ace en junio del 2011) esta edición se lleva a cabo en los talleres del Departamento de Grabado del KCAI con la participación de estudiantes juniors (3er año de la carrera) y profesores. Hugh Merrill -una figura clave en las artes gráficas así como de la enseñanza del grabado en la región- está participando como artista invitado. Más

The Session 8th ( The Kansas City Session) started on September 28 hosted by the  prestigious Kansas City Art Institute in the United States.  Directed by Alicia Candiani and co-directed by Miguel Rivera (KCAI Chair of Printmaking and 2011 ‘ace’s artist in residence) is taking place at the KCAI Printmaking Department workshops involving juniors students and professors. Anoche celebramos la apertura de las exposiciones de las artistas en residencia Ayanah Moor (USA) y Alexandra Carter (USA) en conjunto con la exposicion de artistas iberoamericanos (Argentina, España, Venezuela, Colombia, Perú y Brasil) que fueron seleccionados en la convocatoria abierta de Fusionarte Ilustrados.

Yesterday was the opening of Ayanah Moor (USA) and Alexandra Carter (USA) artist-in-residencie's exhibitions in conjuction with Ilustrados, an exhibition envolving Latin american illustrators.

RESIDENTES DE AGOSTO/AUGUST RESIDENTS

Ya están en ´ace los nuevos residentes de Julio/Agosto:  Ayanah Moor y Alexandra Carter. En primer plano Andrew Donohoe (Tasmania) es un "residente-.reincidente" ya que en Agosto realizará su segunda residencia con nosotros.

ARTISTAS EN RESIDENCIA

Esta semana comenzaron su residencia: Brian Sago y Amanda Schroer. Ambos artistas viajaron desde diferentes ciudades de Estados Unidos y están trabajando en sus proyectos en los talleres de ´ace con la asistencia de nuestra Masterprinter Adriana Moracci.

This week Brian Sago & Amanda Schroer started their residency. Both artists travelled from different cities of USA and are working on ´ace workshops´ on their projects assisted by Masterprinter Adriana Moracci.
