El martes 18 de mayo tuvo lugar 6.40, la actividad de crítica de obra grupal en nuestra Sala Políglota. Creemos que la experiencia fue muy rica, felicitamos a todos los participantes y agradecemos a Juan por su valiosa participación en esta nueva actividad!

On Tuesday May 18 took place the group activity 6.40 in our Políglota Room. We believe that this experience was very rich and we want to congratulate all participants and to thank Juan for his valuable participation in this new activity!

´ACE nite 12/05/2010

El miércoles 12 de mayo se realizó el primer 'ACE nite del año en Proyecto 'ace con las muestras de los artistas en residencia Julia Fernández-Pol (USA) y Hans wendel (USA). Además, durante el evento el músico y compositor Nacho García interpretó nuevas obras de su propia autoría. Agradecemos a todos los presentes por compartir este momento junto a nuestros jóvenes residentes y felicitamos a los ganadores de las obras!

On Wednesday May 12 the first ´ACE nite of the Year took place. The artists in residence Julia Fernandez-Pol (USA) and Hans Wendel (USA) showed their work to the public and during the event the musician and composer Nacho García performed new works of his own. We wnat to thank everybody for sharing this moment with our young residents and congratulations to the winners of the art works!

Gran montaje gran de la obra que Hans Wendel hizo durante su residencia. sus imágenes se expandieron del sketch book que lo acompañó a enormes litografías que llenaron el espacio transversal. Inaugura el 12 de Mayo a las 19.00 hs!

MONTAJE DE LA EXPOSICION DE JULIA FERNANDEZ POL

Estuvimos tres días montando la exposición "Lenguajes Intermedios" de la artista en residencia Julia fernández Pol. Una gran instalación en la Sala Políglota y obras en el mezzanine y en el hall. Hay escultura, monotipos sobre papel y telas impresas que se conjugan en un montaje que abre los límites entre la pintura, la escultura y la gráfica. No se lo pierdan! Inauguramos el miércoles 12 de Mayo a las 19.00 hs en Conesa 667.

We were three days mounting "Intermedia Languages" Julia Fernández Pol's exhibition composed by a big installation at sala Políglota and others pieces in the mezzanine and ´ace hall. There are sculpture, monotypes on paper and printed soft fabrics that joined together in a show that open the frontiers among sculpture, painting and printmaking. Save the date, do not miss the opening on Wednesday May 12!

Lien De Smet y Bruno Patyn : their last days in Buenos Aires...and just one bike (the other was stolen)!

Terminamos la residencia de Julia Fernández Pol y Hans Wendel con una cena para celebrar lo muchoiy bueno que se produjo. Invitamos a Lien De Smet y a Bruno Patyn (quien fuera residente y asistente en ´ace durante 2008 y 2009) que regresan a Bélgica luego de vivir dos años en Buenos Aires.

Julia Fernández Pol and Hans Wendel's residences concluded today. We celebrated with a supper the work well done during these days. Lien and Bruno (who was ´ace resident and assitant during 2008 and 2009) are coming back to belgium after living two years in Buenos Aires.

Recientemente egresado de la universidad, Hans Wendel (EEUU) empezó su residencia de producción en el programa para artistas emergentes. Estará trabajando con nosotros durante tres semanas. En la foto discutiendo su proyecto con Adriana y Alicia. En primer plano sus extraordinarios sketch books en los que ha estado dibujando y documentando  su viaje por varias provincias argentinas.

Recently graduated from the university, Hans Wendel (USA) started a residency within the emerging artists program. He will be working with us for 3 weeks.  He is portrayed in this picture discussing his project with Adriana and Alicia. In the foreground we can see his extraordinary sketch books where he has been drawing and documenting his trip around several Argentine provinces.

Romina Biglieri, quien fuera asistente de taller en el ano 2007, vino a visitarnos desde Palma de Mallorca en donde reside actualmente. Aprovechamos y festejamos su cumple y el de nuestra actual residente Julia Fernandez Pol.

Romina Biglieri (who was our workshop assistan in 2007) came from Palma de Mallorca and visit us. We took advantage and celebrated both, Romina and Julia Fernandez Pol's (current artist in residence) birthdays.

JULIA FERNANDEZ-POL ARTISTA EN RESIDENCIA SUB30

Julia Fernandez-Pol es una joven artista que está realizando una residencia de producción en nuestros talleres. De padres argentinos, Julia ha realizado sus estudios en Estados Unidos y ha recibido su Master en Pintura en la Universidad de Boston. Durante su residencia en ´ACE Julia está trabajando en una serie de imágenes impulsada por el interés de crear un mundo que se origina en las formas dinámicas que se encuentran universalmente en la naturaleza y ha revolucionado los talleres de ´ACE con su energía y gran vitalidad que la caracterizan.

Julia Fernandez-Pol (USA) is a young artist and is doing a production residency in our workshop. Of Argentine parents, Julia has received her Master in Painting from Boston University, USA. During her residency, Julia is working on a series of images driven by the interest of creating a world that originates in forms that are dynamic in nature and has revolutionized ´ACE workshops´with her energy, vitality and enthusiasm.

Lucía Torres es una artista que vive en la Patagonia y ha viajado especialmente para realizar en nuestros talleres un entrenamiento intensivo de fotograbado con fotopolímero, con la guía y asistencia de nuestra Masterprinter, Adriana Moracci.

Lucia Torres is an artist who lives in la Patagonia and has traveled specially to realize in our workshops an intensive course of photopolymer, with the guidance and assistance of our Masterprint, Adriana Moracci.

Esteban Alvarez abrió el programa de clínica de obra que este año ha sido redefinido bajo el nombre de “Los Número 10 - La nueva década” convocando a curadores de la generación intermedia e incorporando artistas visuales destacados en los circuitos de arte nacionales e internacionales.

Esteban Alvarez opened the portfolio review Program taht this year has been redefined under the name of "The Number 10 - The new decade". Curators of the middle generation and outstanding visual artists have been invited to be part of this Program.

Llegamos al final de la residencia de Linda que con mucho éxito ha realizado cuatro fotolitografías sin agua en una edición de seis cada una. Los Angeles de Linda te agradecen tus palabras y amabilidad!!!
We reached to the end of Linda´s residence that very successfuly has made four waterless litography in an edition of six. Lindas´Angels thank you for your words and kindness!!!

Una semana intensa de trabajo! empezaron a surgir imágenes y ya están listas dos ediciones. Linda es una artista enfocada en su obra, que sabe lo que quiere y no pierde oportunidad de investigar y extender sus posibilidades creativas. 

A very busy week of work! Images began to emerge and there are printed already two editions. Linda is an artist focused on her work, who knows what she wants and takes advantage of any opportunity to expand her creative possibilities.

Linda Soberman es una artista norteamericana que reparte su tiempo y su trabajo entre sus dos casas, una en Michigan (EEUU) y otra en la ciudad colonial de San Miguel de Allende en México. Linda llegó a Buenos Aires viajando desde México con su esposo Charles y estará en residencia en 'ace durante las próximas dos semanas.  En su primer día, la artista nos muestra sus monotipos y una gran cantidad de material que trajo para desarrollar su proyecto "Historia Ilustrada".

Linda Soberman is an American artist who divides her time and work between their two houses, one in Michigan (USA) and the other in the gorgeous colonial city of San Miguel de Allende in Mexico. she arrived to Buenos Aires travelling from Mexico with his husband Charles. Linda will be inresidency during the next two weeks. In her first day of work, she shows us her montotypes and a large amount of visual material brought in to develop her proposal "Illustrated History".

VISITAS-VISITS

Nos visitaron los artistas Julianna Joos y Denis Charland quienes son, respectivamente, miembros del Atelier Graff de Montréal y del Atelier Presse Papier de Trois Riviers en Canadá. Los artistas vinieron a Buenos Aires a montar sus exposiciones en el Centro Cultural Borges. La inauguración será mañana jueves 11 a las 19 hs.

Julianna Joss (Graff Atelier, Montréal) and Denis Charland (Atelier Presse Papier, Trois Rivieres) visited´ace today. The Canadian artists came to Buenos Aires to set up their exhibitions at Borges Cultural Center. The opening will be tomorrow Thursday 11th at 7pm.
