Lucía Torres es una artista que vive en la Patagonia y ha viajado especialmente para realizar en nuestros talleres un entrenamiento intensivo de fotograbado con fotopolímero, con la guía y asistencia de nuestra Masterprinter, Adriana Moracci.

Lucia Torres is an artist who lives in la Patagonia and has traveled specially to realize in our workshops an intensive course of photopolymer, with the guidance and assistance of our Masterprint, Adriana Moracci.

Esteban Alvarez abrió el programa de clínica de obra que este año ha sido redefinido bajo el nombre de “Los Número 10 - La nueva década” convocando a curadores de la generación intermedia e incorporando artistas visuales destacados en los circuitos de arte nacionales e internacionales.

Esteban Alvarez opened the portfolio review Program taht this year has been redefined under the name of "The Number 10 - The new decade". Curators of the middle generation and outstanding visual artists have been invited to be part of this Program.

Llegamos al final de la residencia de Linda que con mucho éxito ha realizado cuatro fotolitografías sin agua en una edición de seis cada una. Los Angeles de Linda te agradecen tus palabras y amabilidad!!!
We reached to the end of Linda´s residence that very successfuly has made four waterless litography in an edition of six. Lindas´Angels thank you for your words and kindness!!!

Una semana intensa de trabajo! empezaron a surgir imágenes y ya están listas dos ediciones. Linda es una artista enfocada en su obra, que sabe lo que quiere y no pierde oportunidad de investigar y extender sus posibilidades creativas. 

A very busy week of work! Images began to emerge and there are printed already two editions. Linda is an artist focused on her work, who knows what she wants and takes advantage of any opportunity to expand her creative possibilities.

Linda Soberman es una artista norteamericana que reparte su tiempo y su trabajo entre sus dos casas, una en Michigan (EEUU) y otra en la ciudad colonial de San Miguel de Allende en México. Linda llegó a Buenos Aires viajando desde México con su esposo Charles y estará en residencia en 'ace durante las próximas dos semanas.  En su primer día, la artista nos muestra sus monotipos y una gran cantidad de material que trajo para desarrollar su proyecto "Historia Ilustrada".

Linda Soberman is an American artist who divides her time and work between their two houses, one in Michigan (USA) and the other in the gorgeous colonial city of San Miguel de Allende in Mexico. she arrived to Buenos Aires travelling from Mexico with his husband Charles. Linda will be inresidency during the next two weeks. In her first day of work, she shows us her montotypes and a large amount of visual material brought in to develop her proposal "Illustrated History".

VISITAS-VISITS

Nos visitaron los artistas Julianna Joos y Denis Charland quienes son, respectivamente, miembros del Atelier Graff de Montréal y del Atelier Presse Papier de Trois Riviers en Canadá. Los artistas vinieron a Buenos Aires a montar sus exposiciones en el Centro Cultural Borges. La inauguración será mañana jueves 11 a las 19 hs.

Julianna Joss (Graff Atelier, Montréal) and Denis Charland (Atelier Presse Papier, Trois Rivieres) visited´ace today. The Canadian artists came to Buenos Aires to set up their exhibitions at Borges Cultural Center. The opening will be tomorrow Thursday 11th at 7pm.

REGRESO CON GLORIA

Hoy volvimos de vacaciones, empezamos el año...ordenando la biblioteca y encontrando algunas cosas que se habían perdido en los agujeros negros del universo!

Today we come back from holidays. We started the year ordering the library shelves and finding some stuff that we missed into the universe black holes!

DELICIAS CULINARIAS- DELICATESSEN

Haciendo un alto en su edición de litografías "waterless" (y próximo a regresar a Bélgica después de dos años en Argentina ) Bruno nos cocinó Miso Soup (en versión Belga!). A pesar del día caluroso estuvo muy buena.

In a break from his waterless litho edition ( and close to come back to Belgium after 2 years in Argentina) Bruno cooks Miso Soup(Belgium release!) . Even though that the day was very hot, it tasted delicious.

WINTERMESTER: LUX LINDNER @ ACE

Invitamos al artista argentino Lux Lindner para acompañarnos en la útima jornada del Wintermester. Lux realizó durante 3 horas crítica de obra a los estudiantes. El Estudio Abierto incluyó también visitas de otros artistas y estudiantes que se interesaron por lo realizado durante el taller.

The Argentine artist Lux Lindner was invited to join us during Wintermester's last day. Lux made critiques during 3 hours on the students' work. The Open Studio day included also visits from artists and students that were interested in prints produced during the workshop-

PROGRAMA LOS NUMERO 10- 10º Sesión

El 17 de Diciembre concluyó exitosamente el programa de crítica de obra y revisión de portfolios "Los Número 10" del año 2009. Con la presencia de Rodrigo Alonso en ' ace, se realizó la última sesión de este año. Rodrigo además compartió un almuerzo con los estudiantes de la Universidad de Texas que estaban realizando la Wintersession con nosotros. El programa continuará en el año 2010 con muchas novedades!

On December 17th, the Number 10 Program arrived to its end. Rodrigo Alonso, the prestigious art writer and curator, lead the last session of the year. Rodrigo also joined the students of University of Texas for a lunch, while they were developing a "Wintermester" in ' ace. The critiques program will continue in 2010 with amazing new features!

El sábado organizamos una visita a la exposición "El tiempo del arte" en la  Fundación Proa en La Boca. Juanita Sanchez (quién es una artista colombiana que está siempre cerca de 'ace y que pertenece al staff de la fundación) nos dio una instructiva vista guiada. El grupo aprovechó para visitar La Boca, Caminito y ver algo de tango en las calles.

On Saturday we organized a tour of the exhibition "The Time of the art" at the Fundacion Proa in La Boca. Juanita Sanchez ( a Colombian artist who is a friend of ace and belongs to the foundation's staff) gave us an informative guided tour. The group took advantage of the opportunity to visit La Boca, Caminito and to watch some tango in the streets.

Hoy el grupo de estudiantes acompañados por Patricia y Alvaro realizaron un viaje en catamarán a la localidad del Tigre en delta del Río Paraná. Aprovecharon para visitar el MATi (Museo de Arte del Tigre), un hermoso edificio de estilo francés que data del 1912 y que ha sido restaurado para albergar una colección de pintura argentina. Allí los recibió su directora, Diana Saiegh, quién fuera uno de los críticos invitados al Programa Los Número 10 de ´ace en 2009.

Today, Patricia and Alvaro lead a catamaran trip to the city of Tigre, outside of Buenos Aires, in the Parana River's delta.  They visited the MATi (Museum of Art in Tigre),  a restored 1912 French style mansion formerly known as the Tigre Club, that host an Argentine painting collection. The students were received by Diana Saiegh, MATi current director, who was part of the Number 10 Program at 'ace in 2009. 

VISITAS/GUESTS

Nos visitó Nomi con su esposo Steve.  La artista es miembro del Center for Contemporary Printmaking (CCP) en Norwalk Connecticut. Coincidentemente, hoy se inauguraba en ese centro la exposición de Alicia Candiani y la de monotipos de artistas argentinos realizados en la Monothon de Noviembre. 

Nomi and her husband Steve visited Proyecto ace today. She is a CCP (Centre for Contemporary Printmaking) member in Norwalk, Connecticut. At the same time it was the opening of two exhibitions that relating both places: Alicia Candiani's works made during her artist-in-residence at the CCP in September and the monotypes printed in ace by the Argentine artists during the Monothon in November.

El domingo 6 los estudiantes del la Universidad de Texas en Arlington, EEUU, arribaron a Buenos Aires con su profesora y directora de proyecto Michelle Murillo, quien fuera artista-en-residencia en ´ace en el año 2008. Hoy recorrieron los principales sitios de interés cultural de Buenos Aires.

On Sunday 6th students from University of Texas at Arlington -in the United States- arrived to Buenos Aires together with their professor and director of this project, former ´ace artist-in-residence Michelle Murillo. Today they where around the city visiting the main cultural sights.
